Greek police arrested two minors for robberies at kiosks and gas stations in the southern suburbs of Attica. Besides the minors, police also arrested their parents. According to the investigation, the minors aged 16 and 17 targeted kiosks and fuel stations, operating mainly during early morning hours when there was reduced civilian traffic.
How the two minors robbed kiosks and gas stations in southern suburbs
The 16-year-old, with his facial features covered, would approach on foot and threaten victims with a metal replica gun or knife, forcing them to hand over store receipts or products. His accomplice remained at a close distance keeping watch, while also ensuring their immediate escape as the driver of the motorcycle they used. The preliminary investigation found that the two minors were involved in six robberies and one motorcycle theft.
Their arrest occurred a few days ago when police officers from the Immediate Action unit spotted them moving on foot. Upon seeing the officers, the youths fled. A foot chase followed, during which the suspects threw their helmets to the ground, while the 16-year-old discarded a full-face type hood. When police attempted to restrain the 17-year-old, he resisted, pushing them away with punches and kicks.

During the incident, a police officer was injured in the back and was taken to “401” hospital, where he was diagnosed with musculoskeletal back pain and left after receiving first aid. In the 16-year-old’s possession, police found, among other items, a knife with a wooden handle and a 57-centimeter dagger, while in a park opposite the intersection of Kalamaki and Theomitoros Avenues in Alimos, a metal gun replica that accepts blank cartridges was located following the 17-year-old’s indication and confiscated.
