AEGEAN Airlines and Air China have signed a codeshare agreement, strengthening connectivity between Greece and China while offering passengers more travel options. Under this partnership, the two airlines will implement codeshare flights, enabling passengers to travel on direct flights from Athens to Beijing, as well as to Guangzhou with connections through Air China’s network, and continue their journey with AEGEAN to popular Greek destinations such as Heraklion, Santorini, Rhodes, and Thessaloniki.
AEGEAN: Agreement signed with Air China
Similarly, passengers from Greece benefit from AEGEAN’s partnership by gaining easier access to Chinese destinations through Air China’s extensive network, with unified booking and an enhanced travel experience. This specific collaboration translates to more available route options, improved connections, and a simpler, smoother travel process.
The partnership is expected to launch in May 2026. The Beijing-Athens route operated by Air China currently runs three times per week and is set to increase to five weekly flights during the summer season, further strengthening connectivity between the two countries. The agreement was signed at Air China’s offices in Rome in the presence of Roland Jaggi, Chief Commercial Officer of AEGEAN, and Air China executives.

What AEGEAN’s CCO declared

Leveraging their mutual participation in the Star Alliance, both airlines will explore further opportunities to expand their cooperation to additional routes, aiming to better serve the growing travel needs between Europe and Asia.
