Maria Rita Galli takes the helm of AKTOR LNG

The AKTOR Group welcomes Maria Rita Galli, who joins AKTOR LNG S.A. as the new chief executive officer, taking responsibility for all the company’s LNG and natural gas activities. Ms. Galli brings extensive experience in the energy sector and joins the AKTOR Group following a successful tenure at the National Natural Gas System Operator of Greece (DESFA S.A.), where she served as Chief Executive Officer from 2021 until February 2026. Ms. Galli began her career in 1997 at Eni, where she held significant positions in natural gas and LNG procurement and trading, as well as international business development, foreign subsidiaries, and Mergers & Acquisitions. In 2016, she moved to international energy infrastructure company Snam and took on the role of Executive Vice President of Business Development, where she coordinated the acquisition of 66% of DESFA by SENFLUGA Energy Holdings, a consortium of Snam, Enagas and Fluxis companies. Subsequently, she served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of SENFLUGA until taking over the management of DESFA in 2021. Ms. Galli holds a master’s degree in Nuclear Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Milan.
