The Fuel Pass 2026 platform is set to open on Gov.gr within the next week, following the publication of the relevant Legislative Act in the Government Gazette. Approximately 2.8 million citizens will be able to submit applications through the special voucher.gov.gr application and secure fuel subsidies before Easter. The amounts range from €25 to €60, with island residents receiving the highest support.

Who qualifies for the fuel subsidy
The program targets individuals who meet specific requirements. First, they must be Greek tax residents with declared family income up to €25,000 for single persons or €35,000 for married couples, with an additional €5,000 per child. Additionally, they must own a vehicle or motorcycle in circulation, fully insured and without road tax debts. Each beneficiary can register only one vehicle, regardless of the number of vehicles they own.
Digital card or bank deposit for the voucher
Fuel Pass beneficiaries choose between two payment methods for the subsidy. The first option involves a digital card, which offers a higher amount but is used exclusively for fuel purchases, public transport tickets, and taxi payments through contactless transactions. The second option is a deposit to an IBAN bank account, with a reduced amount by €5 or €10, but with complete freedom of use and the ability to withdraw cash.
Subsidy amounts by vehicle category
The subsidy covers April and May 2026 with differentiated amounts. For cars in island areas, the voucher amounts to €60 with a digital card or €50 with IBAN, while for mainland Greece the amounts are €50 and €40 respectively. For motorcycles, island residents receive €35 with a card or €30 with IBAN, while on the mainland the amounts are €30 and €25 respectively.
Which island areas qualify for increased subsidy
The increased fuel subsidy of €60 with a digital card applies to specific geographical areas. This includes the Regions of North Aegean, South Aegean, Ionian Islands and Crete, as well as the islands of the Attica Region. Also covered are the Sporades islands in Thessaly, the Regional Unit of Thasos, Skyros in Evia, Samothrace in Evros, and Ammouliani in Halkidiki in Central Macedonia.
How to apply through the Gov.gr platform
The Fuel Pass application process is fully digitized and simplified. Initially, interested parties check the requirements based on income and asset criteria. They then enter the Gov.gr platform using Taxisnet codes, complete the necessary information and select their preferred payment method. The system automatically verifies data through AADE without requiring documentation, and finally issues the card or credits the IBAN account for immediate use of the subsidy.
Who benefits most from the program
The biggest beneficiaries of Fuel Pass 2026 are island residents, who face increased transportation costs and receive higher subsidies. Additionally, those who choose the digital card instead of bank deposit secure a larger subsidy amount. Conversely, those who exceed income limits or have multiple vehicles registered under the same tax number remain excluded from the program.
Activation and usage deadlines for the voucher
Digital card activation must be completed by July 31, 2026 at the latest. Card usage is limited exclusively to designated transactions: fuel purchases, public transport tickets, and taxi payments. The system performs automatic cross-checking of all data, ensuring transparency and process speed without bureaucratic burdens.
The Fuel Pass 2026 program represents a targeted government intervention to support households against increased fuel costs. With the voucher.gov.gr platform launching next week, millions of citizens will have the opportunity to secure financial assistance in time for the Easter period.
