The AKTOR Group, having entered a new development phase, is implementing a major investment program that supports its transformation into a Group with multifaceted activities in new fields –such as Natural Gas, Renewable Energy Sources, Real Estate, PPP and Concession projects, and Facilities Management–, while maintaining construction at the core of its operations.
The 2024 Sustainability Report
The Group’s comprehensive sustainable development strategy is confirmed by AKTOR Group’s Sustainability Report for fiscal year 2024 (published in June 2025), the first in its history to be fully aligned with European CSRD directives and ESRS standards.
The Report highlights the adoption of a holistic ESG framework, with specific indicators, transparent processes and actions with long-term value for all, capturing the results of the Group’s operations across all pillars of its activity.
It is noted that, also for the first time in the Group’s history, an exercise was conducted to record and calculate greenhouse gas emissions (GHG Emissions) and prepare a decarbonization plan. At the same time, the first Climate Resilience Analysis was implemented for its total activity.
Focus on the environment
In the environmental sector, the Group implements certified management systems, adopts resource-saving technologies and integrates the circular economy across the entire spectrum of its operations.
Also significant is AKTOR Group’s footprint in renewable energy production, which contributes to the country’s green transition and energy autonomy. Already having a significant renewable energy portfolio, the Group leverages strategic partnerships and synergies for the development of new green energy production and storage projects, planning very large investments in this specific sector.
Additionally, the Group adopts a systematic and prudent approach to reducing its environmental footprint. Actions such as waste recycling and processing, utilization of treated water at construction sites and responsible management of water resources, demonstrate its commitment to sustainability.
Employee empowerment
Recognizing the benefits of a sustainable organization, the Group completed a series of Sustainability Trainings in June 2025 across all its companies, including those abroad, on topics such as CSRD, GHG emissions, sustainable practices and sustainability in construction materials. In this way, the Group contributes to establishing a corporate culture that integrates and applies sustainability horizontally across all its functions and activities.
At the same time, it commits to the continuous development of its people, consistently investing in employee empowerment, offering training and personal development programs, while supporting inclusion, recording notable presence of women in leadership positions. Furthermore, it tangibly supports the local communities where it operates, as well as the younger generation through initiatives and programs that promote education and strengthen its social footprint, such as Aktor4TheFuture, the largest corporate scholarship program in Greece.
Modern corporate governance
In terms of corporate governance, the Group strengthens compliance and accountability mechanisms: The strengthening and revision of the Sustainable Development Policy, Procurement Policy and Human Resources Policy reflect the continuous improvement of its initiatives to ensure compliance. At the same time, the introduction of sustainability clauses in partnerships, strengthening the participation of independent members in the Board of Directors and increasing women’s representation shape a management system oriented towards transparency and accountability.
International recognition from EcoVadis
Notable is the distinction that AKTOR Group earned from EcoVadis, one of the leading international sustainability assessment organizations, which ranks it in the top 15% of companies worldwide. The assessment was based on four key pillars: Environment, Labor Practices & Human Rights, Sustainable Procurement and Business Ethics. The excellent performance recorded by the Group, across the entire spectrum of relevant requirements, exceeded the industry average, proving its steady commitment to responsible business operation and systematic implementation of relevant policies and procedures.
