Alpha Bank continues to invest substantially in strengthening public health, implementing for the 12th consecutive year the program “Together, aiming for health,” which this year supported facilities in the Central Macedonia Region. The bank, in collaboration with the non-profit organization “Barren Line Fertile,” delivered a total of 19,818 pieces of medical-pharmaceutical equipment to 11 health and care facilities in 10 areas of the Region.
Which areas of Central Macedonia did Alpha Bank support with medical-pharmaceutical equipment
Specifically, it strengthened with medical equipment, machines and consumables the Health Centers of Alexandria, Aridaia, Litochoro, Pyrgos – Chalastra, Heraclea, Kassandreia and Polykastro, as well as the Ecclesiastical Nursing Home of the Holy Metropolis of Kitros Katerini and Platamon, the Chronic Diseases Branch of Thessaloniki “Saint Panteleimon,” the Elderly Care Unit “Diamantidios Stegi” – Care of Pontian Ladies as well as the Rehabilitation and Restoration Branch for Persons with Disabilities of Serres.
The corporate volunteering action “Together, we collect medicines” was implemented for the 4th consecutive year
At the same time, for the fourth consecutive year, in collaboration with the organization “GivMed – Share medicine share life,” the corporate volunteering action “Together, we collect medicines” was implemented. This year, the action acquired a more participatory character, as for the first time not only bank employees participated actively, but also customers of the branches, as well as students from five schools in the Region (7th Elementary School of Neapolis, 4th Elementary School of Aridaia – Xenitideio, 11th Elementary School of Serres, 9th Elementary School of Kilkis, 10th Elementary School of Katerini). This expansion significantly strengthened the initiative, while cultivating the concept of contribution and solidarity in the local community and especially in the new generation. A total of 1,364 boxes of medicines and health products with a total value of 11,237.07 euros were collected, which were distributed to eight facilities in the Region: to the Social Pharmacies of Thessaloniki, Visaltia, Veria, Paeonia and Edessa-Thelkou as well as to the Chariseio Nursing Home of Thessaloniki, the Nursing Home “The Good Samaritan of Katerini” and the Foundation of Love and Home for the Elderly of Arnaia – Panagia of Akathist.

The Head of Corporate Social Responsibility at Alpha Bank, Rouli Christopoulou stated: “For another year, ‘Together, aiming for health,’ continues to support health and care structures contributing to improving the daily lives of thousands of citizens. It is a Program that has demonstrably left its mark on the country’s health system for 12 years. We continue our action in 2026, with the main priority being the substantial support of citizens and ensuring equal access to modern and high-quality health services.” A few words about “Together aiming for health” The bank supports health and care structures throughout the country, giving priority to remote and inaccessible areas, with the aim of reducing inequalities in access to health services and improving the quality of healthcare.
To date, 138 facilities throughout Greece have been strengthened with 421,839 pieces of medical machines and medical-pharmaceutical equipment. The facilities are equipped based on their recorded needs, thus contributing to upgrading the services provided, improving working conditions for staff and strengthening residents’ sense of security. According to the Social Impact Measurement Study, the great contribution of the Program is proven, as for every 1 euro invested in it, social value of at least 11.46 euros was returned.
