The Union of Greek Shipowners has consistently placed education at the center of its social mission, offering scholarships to substantially support the next generation. The Union’s postgraduate scholarship program, “SYN-ENOSIS for Education,” continues to strengthen and expand each year, demonstrating that Greek shipping and Greek society stand united.
For the academic year 2025-2026, it offered 130 scholarships, supporting young men and women and their families from 21 regions across Greece, helping them pursue postgraduate studies in 10 academic fields at 11 different countries and 49 universities in Greece and abroad according to their choice. Continuing dynamically, it offers for the academic year 2026-2027, more than 100 SCHOLARSHIPS, as well as the scholarship with the symbolic name “Excellence,” awarded to candidates who have achieved outstanding grades, for studies in Greece and abroad in postgraduate programs at pre-doctoral level, full-time one-year or two-year attendance with physical presence. In this context, the opening of applications for the UGS Annual Postgraduate Studies Scholarship Program was announced through www.ugs.gr and www.syn-enosis.gr.

The Union of Greek Shipowners’ postgraduate scholarship program is the most comprehensive in the country, forming a strong pillar of its enduring humanitarian footprint, which focuses on health, education, social welfare, food assistance, public interest projects, and crisis response, offering over 130,000,000 euros in recent years.
