PASOK MP for Chios and Maritime and Island Policy Committee coordinator Stavros Michailidis appeared visibly shaken while speaking to parapolitika.gr about the tragic events that unfolded Tuesday night on the northeastern Aegean island.
Michailidis emphasized that “under such conditions, especially at night with a chase and responsibilities involved, what happened happened. Unfortunately, this type of maritime management sometimes brings these tragic results.” He added that the tragic incident occurred by “diabolical coincidence” just hours before the parliamentary debate on the legal migration bill, announcing that he would have more to say during his intervention in the plenary session.
