The initiative operates under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs & Sports and the Ministry of Environment & Energy, with the primary goal of raising awareness and encouraging active participation of young people –particularly students– in the recycling process throughout the country. Students from all classes in middle schools and high schools can participate in the “1st National School Recycling Championship.” The competition will be held at Recycling Centers installed at various locations in municipalities, which are presented on the website www.recycling-center.gr. Students can return plastic, metal, and glass materials to the Recycling Centers for recycling. At the end of the recycling process for all plastic, metal, and glass materials at the Recycling Centers, a participation coupon for the “1st National School Recycling Championship” is automatically printed.
