Farmers’ protests: Decisions at the nationwide Nikaia assembly
The nationwide assembly is scheduled for 1:00 PM at the Nikaia Cultural Center, with representatives from dozens of farmer blockades across the country. The focus will be on evaluating the progress of protests to date, planning next steps in their campaign, and addressing issues concerning the meeting with the Prime Minister, for which a representative committee is expected to be appointed.
Farmers’ protests: Traffic developments in Boeotia
Meanwhile, in Boeotia, traffic congestion temporarily eased, particularly for heavy vehicles traveling from north to south. Farmers who had blocked the 5th kilometer of the old national road between Thebes and Livadeia, at Kanavari in Boeotia, decided to lift their blockade and withdraw their tractors, returning to the blockade they established at the Thebes junction.
As they emphasize, this move demonstrates goodwill and connects to their intention to participate in dialogue with the Prime Minister next Tuesday.
At Kastro Boeotia, however, both the main highway and alternative routes remain closed. According to information, a new farmers’ meeting is expected late in the evening, where all factors will be reassessed. It’s possible that by tomorrow afternoon, they may decide to lift blockades at least on secondary roads, despite initially announcing a 96-hour blockade duration. Final decisions are expected within the coming hours.
