A 21-year-old was driving under the influence of alcohol on Attiki Odos and when he realized his car would be impounded, he accelerated to escape, performing dangerous maneuvers. However, he ultimately failed to avoid arrest and ended up before a prosecutor, charged with additional serious violations, facing a fine exceeding €1,000 and license suspension.
Specifically, the young man was arrested in the early morning hours of December 28 by officers from the Attiki Odos Traffic Department, and charges were filed against him for dangerous driving, driving under the influence of alcohol, and violating rules regarding vehicle maneuvers and immobilization.

According to police reports, during traffic controls conducted on a section of Attiki Odos in the area of Metamorfosis Municipality, the accused was caught driving under the influence of alcohol. After completing the breathalyzer procedure and in order to avoid vehicle impoundment, the 21-year-old accelerated and departed from the checkpoint, performing dangerous maneuvers. However, he was later stopped and arrested. The driver was issued the prescribed administrative violations, imposed with an administrative fine of €1,065, had his driving license suspended for 90 days, while the vehicle in question was immobilized.
