Woman pleads with rioters to stop looting supermarket — “This is not what we’re here for”
A video making the rounds online shows a woman desperately trying to stop a group of masked individuals from breaking into a supermarket in Paris, begging them to stand down.
The woman positions herself in front of the store entrance — its facade already badly damaged — in a bid to prevent the looting. However, the youths gathered at the scene ignore her pleas, push her aside and continue pouring into the store.
“Why are you doing this?” the woman cries out, repeatedly shouting “this is not what we’re here for,” as she attempts to make clear that destruction and theft have no place in the protest’s goals.
