Yet another worrying piece of news has emerged concerning the Norwegian royal family, as Princess Märtha Louise’s shaman husband has undergone a kidney transplant. This latest development comes on top of the conviction of Marius Borg, Princess Mette-Marit’s lung transplant, and the hospitalization of King Harald.
Norway: “Durek Verrett undergoes successful kidney transplant”
Princess Märtha Louise’s husband, shaman Durek Verrett, has undergone a kidney transplant, as officially confirmed. “Durek Verrett has successfully undergone a kidney transplant at Oslo University Hospital,” the couple’s spokesperson announced in a statement.
The shaman also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to those who supported him through the ordeal. “I have received medical care in many parts of the world, but I have never experienced the warmth, care, and compassion that I encountered from the nursing staff in Norway in general, and at Drammen Hospital in particular. The way the doctors and nurses cared for me — both as a patient and as a human being — moved me deeply. They were my little angels during a very difficult time,” he said, according to Billedbladet.
Princess Märtha Louise also spoke out following the operation. “Above all, we feel enormous gratitude toward someone’s willingness to become a donor. It is difficult to put into words what such a gift means. The new kidney has given Durek a second chance, and we will never take that for granted,” she emphasized.

King Harald: Rapid deterioration in his health
It is worth noting that, at the same time, King Harald of Norway remains hospitalized at Rikshospitalet in Oslo, after the Palace announced that his condition is “very serious.” Following the latest announcement, Queen Sonja, Crown Prince Haakon, Princess Mette-Marit, their children, and other members of the royal family rushed to the hospital to be by the side of the 89-year-old monarch. Crown Prince Haakon and Mette-Marit were photographed arriving at the hospital dressed in black — an image that speaks volumes about the gravity of the situation.
