Five people were killed in a Russian attack on the Kharkiv region, local authorities announced. Russian forces carried out a massive artillery strike on a residential area in a village in the Chuhuiv district, the prosecutor general’s office announced via Telegram, posting photographs of damaged homes.
Russia: 12 killed in Ukrainian drone strikes
At the same time, twelve people were killed and 39 others wounded in a Ukrainian drone attack on Tatarstan, in central Russia, local authorities announced. The attack targeted the industrial city of Nizhnekamsk, located approximately 1,600 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.
This “massive” strike targeted “industrial facilities and residential areas” in the city, which is home to oil refineries and a major petrochemical plant, according to authorities.
A woman was killed in the Belgorod region, near the border with Ukraine, while one person was killed in Kherson in a drone strike on a taxi, local authorities reported.
In total, Russian forces shot down 456 Ukrainian drones overnight over various regions and the territory of annexed Crimea, according to a statement from Russia’s Ministry of Defense.
