Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced the implementation of a drone countermeasure program, amid increasing drone attacks by Hezbollah against Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) in southern Lebanon.

Netanyahu: Enhanced defense against Hezbollah drones and show of strength toward Iran
In a recorded statement, he said: “A few weeks ago, I ordered the creation of a special program aimed at countering the drone threat, and today I will receive a progress report on this matter.” According to the Times of Israel, he added: “It will take time, but we have taken it on.”
Additionally, Benjamin Netanyahu noted that defense equipment procurement will focus on strengthening Israel’s capabilities and independence. The Israeli Prime Minister stated: “We are procuring two squadrons of advanced aircraft, the F-35s and F-15IAs.” He added: “These aircraft enhance Israel’s overwhelming air superiority, a superiority that was proven during Operation Rising Lion and now during Operation Roaring Lion.”
Netanyahu emphasized that: “Our pilots can reach anywhere in Iranian airspace and are ready to do so if necessary.” He added: “Regarding independence, I have ordered investments in domestic production capabilities in the ammunition sector.”
According to his statements, Israel will increase its defense budget by 350 billion shekels over the next decade, aimed at domestic ammunition production. In conclusion, Benjamin Netanyahu declared that Israel will also develop “pioneering Israeli-made aircraft” that “will completely change the landscape.” However, he did not clarify whether he was referring to unmanned or manned aircraft.
