The remains of the last Israeli hostage, Ran Gvili, were found in Gaza by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) today, Monday (26/1). Specifically, according to the IDF on Sunday evening, a series of covert operations began over the weekend to approach Gvili’s suspected location.
There were two to three locations where the IDF suspected Gvili had been buried, but recent intelligence indicated he had been interred in a Muslim cemetery in the Shejaiay Darah-Tuffah section of northern Gaza, on the Israeli side of the yellow line, according to the Jerusalem Post.
For its part, Hamas stated that the return of the last hostage in Gaza demonstrates its “commitment” to a ceasefire.
