The ceremony took place at the Casin Orthodox Church, attended by family, friends, and political figures, and was conducted in both Romanian and Greek, according to Romanian media.

The 46-year-old Romanian Finance Minister married his beloved in a religious ceremony, with Kyriakos Pierrakakis by his side as best man. Among the guests, according to Romanian media, were former MEP Cristian Buşoi, Stelian Budzeduveanu, Tanaze Stamule, Ciprian Ladunca, and Stelian Nistor.
One of the standout moments was the arrival of the bride, who was escorted to the church by her father. Maria Mihali chose a white wedding gown featuring a corset adorned with floral appliqués and a form-fitting mermaid-style skirt. Her look was completed with a long train and veil, while her bouquet was dominated by peonies in shades of yellow and pink.

Alexandru Nazare opted for a black suit, white shirt, and black bow tie for the religious ceremony. Kyriakos Pierrakakis also appeared in a black suit, which he paired with a black striped tie. Following the conclusion of the ceremony, a reception was held.
Who is Alexandru Nazare?
Alexandru Nazare was born on June 25, 1980, in Onești, Romania, into a family of educators. He studied Political Science in Bucharest, followed by International Relations, European Affairs, and Political Theory in Berlin, and later earned a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the Hertie School.
He began his political career as an adviser at the Romanian Ministry of European Integration and later as an adviser to the European People’s Party in the European Parliament. In 2008, he was elected as an MEP with the Democratic Liberal Party, becoming the youngest Romanian representative in the European Parliament.
He subsequently served as Deputy Minister for European Affairs and, in 2012, as Minister of Transport and Infrastructure. In 2020, as a special representative of the Romanian government, he led the country’s bid to host the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre. Later that same year, he took on the role of Finance Minister for the first time — a position he returned to in June 2025.
Maria Mihali and her musical journey
Maria Mihali is a traditional music singer from the Maramureș region in northern Romania. She has gained recognition for promoting the music and folk traditions of the area and has performed at concerts and festivals both in Romania and abroad.
She also holds a degree in Business Administration and completed postgraduate studies in Business Development Management, though she ultimately chose to pursue a professional career in music.
