In an unusual move, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis decided last night not to stay in Thessaloniki, but instead traveled to the city of Florina to spend the night there before launching his tour of Western Macedonia — an agenda focused on investments, energy, healthcare, and direct contact with local citizens. This morning, he is scheduled to visit the facilities of Tottis Foods International at the Florina Industrial Zone, the municipal enterprise “Xino Nero,” and the dairy products company “Greka.”
At midday, he will travel to Ptolemaida, where he will visit the Wonderplant company’s investment site, followed by the DEI combined heat and power unit for district heating systems “SITHYA” in Kardia. The final stop on the prime ministerial itinerary will be Kozani, where Kyriakos Mitsotakis will first visit the Mamatsio General Hospital of Kozani, before heading to the city’s central square at approximately 6:30 p.m. to meet with residents.

This is how he intends to wrap up his two-day tour of Northern Greece — a visit with a strong economic and development focus, and a key political objective: to stem the flow of voters drifting to the right of New Democracy and bring the party closer to an outright majority in the next elections.

The message sent to New Democracy’s party officials by Secretary-General Konstantinos Kyranakis was clear: the time has come to “step out of our offices, showing openness and optimism, to communicate the government’s significant work to our fellow citizens — and, above all, to listen to them.”
