Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis made a special reference to Turkey’s reactions regarding the spatial planning framework in his weekly Sunday review. Through his Facebook account, the Prime Minister emphasized that “threats and illegal claims cannot dictate our decisions.”
The Prime Minister also spoke of the “revival of unfounded claims about ‘grey zones,'” adding: “Our position is clear and unchanged: Greece acts in accordance with international law, exercises its rights, and will not allow threats or illegal claims to dictate its decisions. We consistently pursue dialogue and good-neighborly relations with Turkey. But dialogue does not mean retreat.”
Referring to the Greece-Cyprus electricity interconnection — and specifically to the agreement for the entry of leading French investment group Meridiam as a majority shareholder — Kyriakos Mitsotakis noted: “We are proving, once again, that our country attracts serious international investors in major infrastructure projects.”
