The meeting of the SYRIZA Central Committee will be postponed following the resignation of Sokrates Famellos from the party leadership, SYRIZA-PS Deputy Secretary Anastasia Sapouna stressed in an interview with ERT. “The Political Secretariat of the Party will be convened immediately to determine the next steps,” she added.
Regarding statements made by other party members, such as Pavlos Polakis and Nikos Pappas, who claimed the SYRIZA Central Committee meeting would proceed as scheduled, Ms. Sapouna emphasized: “I am currently performing the duties of the SYRIZA-PS Secretary. Since the party leader has resigned, I will convene the Political Secretariat so we can move forward. The Central Committee meeting will not take place. There is no party leader at this moment to present a proposal to the session.”
