“Polls show that the ruling party is far from securing an outright majority,” said SYRIZA’s parliamentary spokesperson Kostas Barkas, speaking on Parapolitika 90.1. He made the remarks on Monday afternoon (6/7) on the show “Εκείνη κι Εγώ” (“She and I”), hosted by Stella Gkantona and Thanasis Fouskidis, adding that: “There is no poll that records Samaras’s party, which is targeting disillusioned New Democracy voters.”

Kostas Barkas confirmed that he is remaining within SYRIZA, while noting that the party’s voters say there cannot be a viable opposition ballot against Tsipras’s party.

In closing, Barkas did not hold back, stating: “We must not bury our heads in the sand — not us, the voters and supporters who backed SYRIZA. I believe the only one who can stand up to Mitsotakis is Tsipras and ELAS. I will not go against society.”
