Sharp criticism regarding Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ speech was delivered during the parliamentary debate by Course of Freedom leader Zoe Konstantopoulou.
Konstantopoulou against Mitsotakis: Among the most wretched prime ministerial speeches
Ms. Konstantopoulou argued that it was “one of the most wretched prime ministerial speeches” and spoke of “moral wretchedness.” According to the Course of Freedom leader, Greek society has “democratic memory” and discusses how “you will leave.” At the same time, she spoke of a “dangerous regime, which, like every regime, is dangerous at the moment it falls.”
As she argued subsequently, there cannot be discussion about the Rule of Law while government officials attack the European Public Prosecutor’s Office for revelations regarding the OPEKEPE scandal. According to her, “it is not a Rule of Law state where political friends are appointed to public positions even without degrees. It is not a Rule of Law state in which a member of parliament who backed the OPEKEPE scandal is promoted to deputy minister.”
Concluding with reference to Tempi, she said he made no reference to the tragedy, while addressing Justice Minister George Floridis, she pointed out that “the fascism that comes gushing from your mouth cannot be stopped.”
