The weather outlook is improved today, Friday August 1st, with phenomena being fewer and more localized compared to previous days.
Specifically, instability persists, mainly in mountainous and semi-mountainous areas of mainland Greece during the warm hours of the day, where temporary showers or isolated thunderstorms may occur.

Meanwhile, winds from northern directions remain strengthened, mainly in the Aegean, intensifying the risk of fire outbreaks. Temperature remains at normal levels for the season, with maximum values reaching up to 35 degrees Celsius in places.
This pattern is expected to continue over the weekend, while a new weather change is forecast from next week, with possible rainfall in parts of central and northern Greece.

Thunderstorms continue today in much more limited areas, with weather remaining unstable.
In central and eastern Macedonia and in the morning hours in eastern Thessaly, the Sporades, Euboea and locally in eastern Central Greece, clouds with rain and isolated thunderstorms are forecast. In the rest of the country, generally clear weather is expected with local clouds in northern Crete, where local rain will occur until noon, but during midday-afternoon hours on the mainland, clouds will develop and local showers or isolated thunderstorms will occur mainly in mountainous areas.
Winds will blow from northern directions 4 to 6 and in the Aegean locally 7 Beaufort.
Temperature will not show significant change and will reach 31 to 33 degrees in most areas and locally 34 degrees Celsius on the mainland.
MACEDONIA, THRACE
Weather: Few clouds, which temporarily early in the morning in central and eastern Macedonia will be increased, when local rain and isolated thunderstorms will occur.
At noon-afternoon, increased clouds are expected again on the mainland with local showers or thunderstorms, mainly in mountainous areas.
Winds: From northern directions 3 to 5 and temporarily in eastern maritime areas locally 6 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 17 to 32 and locally up to 33 degrees Celsius. In western Macedonia 2 to 3 degrees lower.
IONIAN ISLANDS, EPIRUS, WESTERN CENTRAL GREECE, WESTERN PELOPONNESE
Weather: Generally clear. During midday-afternoon hours on the mainland, temporary clouds will develop and local showers will occur, mainly in mountainous areas.
Winds: North-northwestern 3 to 5 and in the Ionian temporarily locally 6 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 19 to 33-34 degrees Celsius. In the Ionian islands from 21 to 31 degrees Celsius.
THESSALY, EASTERN CENTRAL GREECE, EUBOEA, EASTERN PELOPONNESE
Weather: In eastern Thessaly, the Sporades, Euboea and locally in eastern Central Greece, clouds with rain and isolated thunderstorms are forecast with improvement from noon. In other areas, few clouds are expected. During midday-afternoon hours, temporarily increased clouds are forecast on the mainland, when local showers or isolated thunderstorms will occur, mainly in mountainous areas.
Winds: From northern directions 3 to 5 and in eastern areas locally 6 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 20 to 33 and locally up to 34 degrees and in the Sporades up to 29-30 degrees Celsius.
CYCLADES, CRETE
Weather: Few clouds temporarily increased until midday hours in northern Crete where local rain will occur.
Winds: From northern directions 5 to 6 and locally up to 7 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 23 to 30 and locally in southern Crete up to 33 degrees Celsius.
EASTERN AEGEAN ISLANDS – DODECANESE
Weather: Generally clear. Local clouds in the morning hours in the north.
Winds: From northern directions 5 to 6 and locally up to 7 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 24 to 32-33 degrees Celsius.
ATTICA
Weather: Few clouds temporarily increased until noon, when there is a possibility of local rain in the north. Clear from afternoon.
Winds: From northern directions 4 to 5 and in eastern areas locally 6 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 23 to 33-34 degrees Celsius.
THESSALONIKI
Weather: Few clouds, which early in the morning will temporarily be increased, when local rain and isolated thunderstorms will occur. At noon-afternoon, increased clouds are expected again with local showers or thunderstorms, mainly in surrounding mountainous areas.
Winds: North-northwestern 3 to 4 Beaufort and gradually variable weak.
Temperature: From 20 to 31 degrees Celsius.
FORECAST FOR TOMORROW SATURDAY (2/8)
In the Sporades and Euboea, transient clouds in the morning hours with possibility of local rain and gradually clear weather. In other areas initially clear but during midday-afternoon hours on the mainland clouds will develop and local showers will occur, mainly in mountainous areas, and possibly isolated thunderstorms in central and northern mountains.
Winds will blow north-northwestern, in western areas 3 to 5, in eastern areas 4 to 6 and in the Aegean locally 7 Beaufort.
Temperature will not show significant change and will reach 31 to 33 and locally 34 to 35 degrees on the mainland and 29 to 32 and locally in southern Crete 33 degrees Celsius in island areas.
FORECAST FOR SUNDAY (3/8)
Generally clear weather. During midday-afternoon hours on the mainland, clouds will develop and local showers will occur in mountainous areas, except in Thrace.
Winds will blow north-northwestern 3 to 5 and in the Aegean locally 6 Beaufort.
Temperature will show a slight rise.
FORECAST FOR MONDAY (4/8)
Generally clear weather. During midday-afternoon hours on the mainland, clouds will develop and in central and northern mainly mountainous areas local showers and isolated thunderstorms will occur. In Macedonia the phenomena will persist until late evening.
Visibility in western areas will be locally limited in the morning hours.
Winds will blow west-northwestern 3 to 5 and locally in open seas 6 Beaufort.
Temperature will not show significant change.
FORECAST FOR TUESDAY (5/8)
In Macedonia, Thrace and gradually in Thessaly, the Sporades, Euboea, Epirus and Central Greece, increased clouds with local showers and isolated thunderstorms. Gradual improvement from afternoon.
In the rest of the country generally clear weather.
Winds will blow north-northwestern 4 to 5 and in open seas locally 6 Beaufort.
Temperature will show a slight drop in central and northern areas.
