In the face of destruction, a remarkable spirit of unity and solidarity has emerged in Trapezitsa, Konitsa, where the wildfire continues to burn for a ninth consecutive day. Monks have left their monasteries and made their way up the mountain to support the efforts of the Fire Service and numerous volunteers battling to extinguish the blaze. A powerful sense of solidarity has taken hold, with the Youth Volunteer Group remaining on the front lines of the fight. Forest commandos are actively engaging the fire, alongside forest cooperatives, the Red Cross, and the Konitsa Mountaineering Club. Each group plays its own vital role — transporting materials and equipment, creating firebreaks, and providing support to those operating in the most difficult and inaccessible terrain.
