A 28-year-old seafarer was transported to the General Hospital of Nikaia “Agios Panteleimon” on Tuesday morning (11/8), sustaining head injuries after falling from a ship’s ladder in Perama.

According to the official statement issued by the Hellenic Coast Guard, the victim is a sub-lieutenant aboard a yacht sailing under a Cayman Islands flag, which was docked at a private ship repair facility in Perama.
The 28-year-old remained hospitalized for treatment of his injuries and was discharged on Wednesday morning (12/8). An preliminary investigation into the causes and circumstances of the workplace accident is being conducted by the 4th Port Authority of Perama, operating under the Central Port Authority of Piraeus.
