Seven new violations of Greek national airspace were recorded on Wednesday (12/8), carried out by Turkish aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over the Aegean, as Ankara continues its provocative actions. A total of four Turkish aircraft entered the Athens FIR without a flight plan — one ATR-72 and three UAVs. The violations were recorded over the northeastern, central, and southeastern Aegean.

Turkey keeps provoking: Six flight rule violations within the Athens FIR
Of the seven airspace violations, six are attributed to the ATR-72 and one to the UAVs. At the same time, six violations of flight regulations within the Athens FIR were recorded — one by the ATR-72 and five by the UAVs. The Turkish aircraft were identified and intercepted by Greek fighter jets, in accordance with international rules and standard practice.
