The Three-Member Juvenile Court sentenced the 17-year-old defendant to eight years in prison for the murder — carried out in a calm state of mind — of well-known Karditsa singer Giorgos Tsitoglou. According to ERT, the court, following the prosecutor’s recommendation, acquitted the 16-year-old co-defendant, who had faced charges of accessory to homicide.

The trial was held behind closed doors, as required by law in cases involving minors.
The murder of the singer
Giorgos Tsitoglou was found stabbed on the morning of Sunday, March 22, in the Kaminades area of Karditsa — a discovery that sent shockwaves through the local community. According to reports, he was at a residence when two young individuals came to visit him. For reasons investigated by authorities, a heated argument broke out. The situation quickly spiraled out of control, and the singer was attacked with a knife, sustaining fatal injuries.
Following the violent incident, the two youths fled the scene. Security camera footage proved to be a critical piece of evidence in the authorities’ investigation, ultimately helping to identify the suspects.
