Four foreign universities are currently awaiting a certification decision. As Sofia Zacharaki stated on SKAI Radio, the relevant committee’s decision on four additional foreign university branches is expected to be reached by the middle of next week.
The four universities are as follows:
- Georgetown University: In partnership with the PPC Group (DEI), aiming to offer two postgraduate programs.
- Iowa State University of Science and Technology: Focused on the agricultural sector, in collaboration with the American Farm School.
- European University Cyprus
- Roger Williams University: Submitted its application in partnership with Deree.
Ministry of Education: New substitute teachers to be hired by late August to early September
The Minister of Education also stated that new substitute teachers will be hired by the end of August or the beginning of September. Minister Zacharaki noted that, as of February 2026, the National Education Dialogue Committee has already begun its work, focusing on upgrading the high school curriculum and introducing a new university admissions system.
She also announced that a public digital consultation will launch at the end of the month, featuring key questions that will also address students directly. According to the minister, the committee is expected to submit its proposals in November.
