The mystery surrounding the disappearance of 50-year-old You Ting in Artemida is growing increasingly complex. A missing sale-and-purchase file — the only item not found at her home in Artemida — combined with a case involving debts amounting to tens of thousands of euros, paint the backdrop of the case now under investigation by authorities. The story of the fuel station, in which You Ting is alleged to have played a central role, begins two years ago. Acting as an intermediary, she facilitated the purchase of a gas station in Rentis by Chinese investors. According to a report by Live News, the former owner revealed that significant debts — exceeding €140,000 — emerged following the transaction. As he stated, “there is nothing between us. They owe us money, not the other way around.” The new owners, he said, failed to manage the business properly, accumulating debts to his son, to Ting herself, and to the state. “They owe my son around eighty thousand euros, and as for Ting, they didn’t keep up with the EFKA payment arrangement, so about €30,000–€35,000 was seized directly from her bank account,” the former owner added.

You Ting’s role, her ties to the investors, the broken payment arrangement, and her disappearance from Artemida
The former owner first met You Ting in her capacity as a broker, who introduced him to the Chinese investors living in Greece who ultimately purchased the gas station. “Ting came as a broker, she was paid, she brought in some Chinese buyers. They then appointed her as the company’s representative and manager,” he noted. The new owners, according to him, had experience in a similar line of work back in China, yet they were unable to run the business effectively. “My son stepped in again to keep things going, and now it’s in the process of being sold,” he said, adding that both his son and Ting remain unpaid. He explained that when they originally sold the business, the only outstanding liability was with EFKA — Greece’s social security fund — under a repayment arrangement that was ultimately not honored. “The arrangement was not kept on their end… And EFKA was right to seize the money,” he remarked pointedly. All parties involved appear to have agreed to resell the business to a third buyer in order to compensate those affected. However, You Ting has been missing since May 20, and the former owner noted that the last time he saw her was this past April, at a meeting concerning a fire safety matter.
