The self-confessed killer of 39-year-old Vasiliki in Kalamata has been granted a new deadline until Saturday morning. According to reports, forensic examinations were completed shortly before, and their findings will now be added to the case file and assessed.
More specifically, new evidence appears to have emerged from the forensic examinations and the police investigation, which is why the defendant’s lawyer requested a postponement so that the 41-year-old could give his statement on Saturday. According to his attorney, G. Kamvysis, the facts of the case have been presented in a “distorted” manner — without this implying that the accused did not attack her with fury. He also stated that his client is gradually coming to terms with what has happened and that his primary concern is for the children.
It is recalled that the 41-year-old self-confessed killer has admitted to the act but continues to maintain that he acted in self-defence. According to the latest reports, one of the two children appears to have spoken to specialist hospital staff about the conditions that prevailed in the home in recent months. It also drew attention that earlier in the day, the transfer of the 41-year-old was carried out in secrecy, via the underground car park at the rear of the courthouse.
Meanwhile, none of the victim’s relatives or close ones were present at the courthouse.
