Extreme weather phenomena are being recorded in recent days, with weather conditions resembling winter, as many areas of the country were “dressed” in white, despite being in early May. Just before the start of the summer season, temperatures have plummeted due to a cold front invasion, with readings even dropping below zero.
Where snow fell – Winter scenes in Parnassos and Seli
Snowfall was recorded in several areas, including:
- Parnassos
- Seli
- Mountainous Corinthia
- Larissa
- Serres
In Parnassos, the landscape turned completely white, with snow depth reaching 3 to 5 centimeters.
In Nymfaio and Seli, the snowfall was heavy, creating scenes reminiscent of deep winter.

In mountainous Corinthia, the landscape became extremely wintry, as heavy snowfall occurred from the evening of May Day.
The road from Feneos to Zacholi was covered with snow, creating spectacular scenes for residents and visitors.
Frost and temperatures down to -3.2°C
Particularly low temperatures were recorded on Saturday morning, May 2, mainly in the northern mainland areas.
The lowest temperature was recorded in Seli Imathia, where mercury dropped to -3.2 degrees Celsius.
According to the meteorological station network of the National Observatory of Athens / meteo.gr, particularly low minimum values were recorded in many areas.
