A sudden change in the weather with falling temperatures and clouds as the main characteristics of the shift will be observed on May Day across most of the country. Former meteorological service director and meteorologist Theodoros Kolydas presents in a video posted on “X” the temperatures that will prevail in eight cities across the country in the coming days.
As shown, Friday and Saturday the temperature drop will be dramatic, as we will experience a winter break. As Mr. Kolydas notes, “Friday and Saturday still maintain the coldest pattern, mainly in mainland areas such as Tripoli, Larissa, Thessaloniki and Alexandroupoli”.
Kolydas weather forecast: Gradual recovery from Sunday
“From Sunday, recovery begins gradually, while from Monday and mainly Tuesday and Wednesday the temperature rises more clearly in most areas. The rise appears more noticeable in Larissa, Athens, Patras and Heraklion, where maximums from mid-week approach or exceed 22°C -25°C. In contrast, Syros and island locations generally maintain milder values due to sea influence,” notes the experienced meteorologist and concludes with a general observation:
“In some areas – such as Athens – the maximums on May Day will be slightly higher than the chart, at 15 to 16 degrees”.
