The weapon that caused the fatal injury to the 44-year-old man found dead late Tuesday evening 28/04 in a stable in the Bourna area of Kalamata has been located, and authorities are now investigating whether he was murdered or if it was suicide. According to ERT reports, the weapon belongs to the elderly owner of the stable, father of the 50-year-old Greek woman who, together with her 47-year-old Albanian partner, found the 44-year-old man dead. As previously reported by messinialive, the victim suffered a gunshot wound to the head, likely from a hunting rifle.

Death in Kalamata: What authorities are investigating
The results of the forensic examination are considered crucial for the investigation’s progress, expected to shed light on both the exact time of death and the method of action.
Under authorities’ scrutiny are also the statements of the 50-year-old woman and the 47-year-old man, who discovered the victim yesterday, shortly before 4 PM and, as they stated, were temporarily hosting him.
Regarding the victim, he was a resident of Agioi Theodoroi in Corinthia, while in the past he had attracted authorities’ attention for a cannabis cultivation case in 2019, in an area of Achaia.
Police are examining the relationship between those involved, as well as the reasons for the victim’s presence in Messinia, with investigations continuing intensively and all possibilities remaining open.
