The weather will maintain its spring character over the coming days leading up to May Day, though brief changes are expected. According to meteorologist Klearchos Marousakis, the most significant weather change is expected from Thursday (30/4) into Friday (1/5). More specifically, until Thursday afternoon, favorable weather conditions will prevail, with sunshine across most regions and temperatures quite high for the season. The mercury is expected to reach 25 to 28 degrees Celsius, with the possibility of touching 29 degrees in some areas.

Meanwhile, in the Aegean Sea, northerly winds will blow at 5 to 6 Beaufort scale intensity. During midday and afternoon hours, thermal instability will cause local showers or brief thunderstorms mainly in the mountainous areas of the mainland and along the Pindus Mountain Range, while the rest of the country will remain generally unaffected. In Athens, clear weather is expected with temperatures up to 27 degrees, mainly in the western parts of the basin. In Thessaloniki, sunshine will prevail with some cloud cover in the surrounding mountains, while temperatures will reach 22 degrees.

On Thursday, April 30th afternoon, a cold front is expected to pass from the northern Balkans toward our country, causing instability. Specifically, rain, showers and local thunderstorms are expected mainly in eastern, central and northern Greece, while in some areas the phenomena may be intense. On Friday, the phenomena will move southward, while from Saturday the weather will show gradual improvement.
The northerly winds will weaken and temperatures will return to more normal levels, between 18 and 22 degrees Celsius.
