An impressive occupancy rate at Greek hotels in August 2026 was widely anticipated — and the Institute of Tourism Research and Forecasts (ITEP) has now confirmed it. According to the institute, average occupancy stood at 86.2%, just 0.01% lower than in August 2025. The average double room rate also came in one euro below last year’s figure, settling at €189. ITEP described this as yet another year in which the Greek summer “prevailed” over the significant challenges that emerged. The institute also noted that prices were by no means uniform across the board, as both hotel category and operational model played a decisive role in the overall picture.
