FOTOKYKLOSI S.A. wrapped up its participation as a sponsor of the major Recycling Festival organized by the Hellenic Recycling Agency (EOAN) from June 29 to July 3 at Tritsis Park — and by all accounts, it was a resounding success, drawing impressive crowds throughout the event. Athens’ largest metropolitan park was transformed into a vibrant hub of environmental education and active community engagement, with FOTOKYKLOSI taking a leading role and keeping its focus firmly on the next generation.
Throughout the festival, hundreds of students from Attica summer camps and scores of families had the opportunity to discover the importance of responsible waste management. Through collaborative educational activities, hands-on workshops, and interactive games, young visitors were introduced to the core principles of sustainability. The organization also distributed specially designed print materials, including the educational storybook “The Guardians of Nature, Fotoula and Fotokyklosi.”
On Thursday, July 2, the event drew a number of high-profile guests alongside the general public, including senior political figures and institutional representatives. FOTOKYKLOSI S.A. General Director Mr. Dimitris Christogiannopoulos attended the event, where he had the opportunity to meet with government and local authority representatives, including the Minister of Environment and Energy, Mr. Stavros N. Papastauros, Secretary General Mr. Manolis Grafakos, EOAN Managing Director Ms. Alexandra Togia, and the Mayor of Ilion, Ms. Adriana Alevizou-Koukouvino — reaffirming the organization’s strong and ongoing alignment with the bodies driving the circular economy forward.

This participation is the latest chapter in FOTOKYKLOSI S.A.’s long-standing commitment to environmental education. Since 2011, its institutionalized educational program “FOTOKYKLOSI – Learning About Recycling” has responsibly informed more than 50,000 students across over 900 schools at all levels of education, establishing itself as one of the country’s most significant pillars of environmental awareness.
FOTOKYKLOSI S.A. is committed to investing in the next generation, recognizing that early exposure to recycling does more than impart knowledge — it builds a strong environmental consciousness that stays with children throughout their lives. By nurturing a culture of sustainability from an early age, the organization is turning tomorrow’s citizens into active guardians of the planet. As the first certified system in Greece to organize the collection and domestic recycling of photovoltaic panels, FOTOKYKLOSI S.A. consistently combines operational excellence with social responsibility, laying the groundwork for a transition to a truly sustainable development model.
