Mourgos: “The new generation wants to — and can — shape a better future for everyone”
On the occasion of the championship’s conclusion, TECHAN’s President, Mr. Apostolos Mourgos, stated: “The success of the ‘1st Panhellenic School Recycling Championship for Secondary Education’ proves that when we give children the right incentives, they can become the most powerful ambassadors of environmental change and sustainability.
The naming of Giannis Antetokounmpo as MVP (Most Valuable Protector) of Recycling in Greece marked the starting point of a major national effort to strengthen environmental awareness in our country. Through his athletic journey, his values, and his international influence, Giannis embodies the power of effort, teamwork, and giving back to society — values that are perfectly aligned with TECHAN’s own philosophy.
The more than 87 million items that students returned to TECHAN’s Recycling Centers are not simply an impressive number. They are a clear message that the new generation wants to — and can — shape a better future for everyone!”
More than 500 locations across Greece
TECHAN’s extensive network of state-of-the-art Recycling Centers, spanning more than 500 locations throughout Greece, was the key driver behind the championship’s success. Students experienced firsthand the value of recycling through source separation and witnessed how technology can be connected to sustainable development.
Our goal at TECHAN A.B.E.E. is to shape a future where recycling is an integral part of everyday life. We remain committed to investing in initiatives that encourage citizen participation — and especially the participation of the younger generation. Because, as Giannis Antetokounmpo says: “In recycling, we are all one team! We are TECHAN!”
