Through art, children discover new ways to express themselves, communicate, and unlock their full potential. With the shared goal of expanding these opportunities for children in the city, Mediterranean Cosmos and SOS Children’s Villages Greece have joined forces to establish an Art Workshop at the Learning and Educational Support Center of Thessaloniki.
The Art Workshop — launched for the first time at the Learning and Educational Support Center of Thessaloniki through the initiative and support of Mediterranean Cosmos — has successfully completed its first cycle, strengthening the services provided to approximately 130 children. Through a structured visual arts education program, children were given the opportunity to engage regularly with the arts, experiment with different forms of expression, and develop new skills in a safe and nurturing environment. The program, led by an active artist and lecturer at the School of Fine Arts of Thessaloniki, runs in two cycles: January through June and October through December 2026.
During the first cycle, children had the chance to explore the world of art through hands-on activities and creative projects. Imagination took shape, and each artwork became a personal journey toward self-confidence and self-discovery — one that strengthened essential skills and opened new pathways for expressing emotions and ideas.
