A stern message to the Board of Directors of the Panhellenic Federation of Laboratory Physicians (POERGI), which convenes today at 9 p.m., is being delivered through parapolitika.gr by Health Minister, Adonis Georgiadis.
Strict message from Georgiadis to laboratory doctors
It should be noted that the dominant proposal in today’s Board meeting and electors of POERGI, which will be conducted via teleconference, is the suspension of credit services to National Organization for Healthcare Services Provision (EOPYY) beneficiaries, as a reaction to what laboratory doctors themselves characterize as very high clawback on actual public spending for diagnostic examinations conducted for Organization beneficiaries.
This means that, starting one month from today, EOPYY beneficiaries may, depending on the laboratory doctors’ own decision, come for their diagnostic examinations and be forced to pay the entire amount to laboratories – including the amount corresponding to EOPYY’s own financial contribution – while simultaneously receiving receipts from diagnostic laboratories and subsequently claiming their money, whatever they are entitled to, from the relevant services of EOPYY itself.
However, Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis warns that such a form of “strike” mobilization by laboratory doctors will not be tolerated by the political leadership of the Health Ministry and EOPYY administration and communicates through parapolitika.gr that any laboratory doctor or diagnostic laboratory that requests the full amount for conducting diagnostic examinations from EOPYY beneficiaries will have their contract with the Organization automatically terminated without further discussion.
