November 15 is the final deadline for submitting asset declarations or the annual Property Status and Financial Interests Declarations for 2025 (usage 2024), submitted according to the provisions of law 5026/2023, following an amendment incorporated into the Health Ministry bill, which was voted by Parliament.
It should be noted that this year’s submission is taking place for the second time through the new e-pothen electronic platform, which connects with a large number of institutions and organizations, requiring more time for users to familiarize themselves and adapt.
Chairman of the Asset Declaration Committee: This is the final deadline
The presiding chairman Thanasis Bouras, in his capacity as chairman of the Asset Declaration Committee, informed the Plenary that with the amendment to be incorporated into the bill, the deadline for submitting annual Property Status Declarations and Financial Interests Declarations for 2025 is set until November 15.
“This is the final deadline. There has been two years of preparation to create an automated control system. Now, all that is required is for each obligated person to enter the system and check if the data belongs to them. There’s no longer any need to run to banks to collect information,” said Mr. Bouras, noting that there will be no other deadline and reminding that penalties are provided for failure to submit the declaration.
“The results so far are meager. People wait until the last moment. But they should know that this is the final deadline,” said Mr. Bouras.
“The extension aims to ensure the smooth and safe operation of the e-pothen platform, to avoid overloading the information system due to simultaneous submissions, and to provide adequate time for the correct completion of declarations by all obligated parties,” states the explanatory report.
