Approximately 1,500 winemaking companies are estimated to operate in Greece, according to data from the Greek Wine Association, reflecting the fragmented nature of the wine market. At the same time, our country faces extreme challenges related to the significant decrease in grape production due to severe weather conditions. The impacts of frosts on March 20th and April 10th on one hand, and drought resulting from lack of rainfall this year as well, constitute the main causes for the reduced harvest confirmed in major viticultural regions.
