Authorities have arrested a 46-year-old man for the fatal hit-and-run accident that occurred on Thursday (2/10) on Petrou Ralli Avenue. The man was located and arrested in the Tavros area, as he is believed to be the motorcycle driver who struck and killed a man riding an electric scooter on the avenue.
Petrou Ralli: 46-year-old had license suspended due to helmet violation
According to the Hellenic Police, the perpetrator fled the scene of the accident and escaped, however he was identified by officers from the 1st Traffic Department of Piraeus through video footage, which led to his arrest. The investigation revealed that the 46-year-old was driving without a license, which had been suspended since September 21 for a period of 30 days because he was not wearing a helmet. He faces charges for involuntary manslaughter, leaving the scene of a traffic accident, and driving with a suspended license. The arrested individual was brought before the Athens Misdemeanor Prosecutor.
