NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte expressed his support for Donald Trump’s statements that Alliance member countries should shoot down Russian unmanned aircraft and planes if they enter their airspace. “If necessary. I absolutely agree with President Trump: if necessary,” he noted characteristically in an interview on Fox News’ “Fox & Friends” show.

Rutte added that NATO forces are already trained to assess such threats and decide whether they can escort Russian aircraft out of Alliance territory or if they need to take more decisive action.
