Two foreign minors, aged 17 and 18, were arrested by officers from the Crime Investigation Department of Heraklion on Sunday afternoon, September 21, after they violently attempted to snatch a gold chain from a man’s neck in New Heraklion before fleeing the scene. The two suspects are charged with attempted robbery in complicity and violation of drug laws.

New Heraklion: Small amount of raw cannabis found in suspects’ possession
Specifically, the accused approached a pedestrian in the New Heraklion area on Friday afternoon, September 19, and violently attempted to remove a gold neck chain before fleeing the scene.
Officers from the Crime Investigation Department of Heraklion, following preliminary investigation, identified the two minors as perpetrators of the attempted robbery and located them on the afternoon of September 21, 2025, while a small amount of raw cannabis was found in their possession. It should be noted that the 17-year-old does not possess the necessary documents for legal residence in the country. The arrested individuals were brought before the competent prosecutor.
