New York City police had closed the streets where the UN General Assembly is taking place to allow Donald Trump’s motorcade to pass, resulting in Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan becoming another “victim” of these security measures, following French President Emmanuel Macron.
Erdogan: Visibly annoyed while waiting for Trump’s motorcade to pass
The Turkish president, when caught in the roadblock while streets were closed, waited standing until the American president’s movement was completed. However, in stark contrast to the composed reaction of the French president, who didn’t hesitate to call Trump and joke about the situation, Recep Tayyip Erdogan showed a completely different demeanor.
In the footage that emerged, he appears clearly irritated and with no intention of making light of his ordeal. It’s worth noting that the French president on Monday evening (22/9) got out of his vehicle, called Trump and asked him to «open the road» telling him: «Guess what, I’m waiting for you on the road because everything is blocked for you».
