Macron to Trump: I’m waiting for you on the street because everything is blocked for you
“Sorry, Mr. President, everything is blocked right now,” one of the police officers can be heard telling Emmanuel Macron. Jokingly, the French president got out of his vehicle, called Trump, and asked him to “clear the road.” “Guess what, I’m waiting for you on the street because everything is blocked for you,” Macron characteristically told the American president.
After several minutes, the road opened, but only for pedestrians. So the French president headed toward the French Embassy on foot, greeting surprised passersby he encountered along the way.
