ANAKEM‘s presence at the 89th Thessaloniki International Fair was successfully completed once again this year. Specifically, ANAKEM strengthened public dialogue and awareness around the environmentally sound management of Construction and Demolition Waste (CDW). “We were delighted to welcome a significant number of visitors to our pavilion. ANAKEM actively contributes to developments. Through innovation, responsibility and strategic vision, we unite forces for a sustainable future,” emphasized President and CEO Elias Dimitriadis. ANAKEM’s pavilion was visited by government representatives, local authorities, institutional bodies and market representatives, as well as many citizens who were informed about the construction waste recycling process and the devastating consequences of illegal environmental dumping. Particular interest was generated by the interactive event on plastic pollution, in collaboration with environmental groups “Echedorou Fysis” and “Cleaningans”. Through experiments with digital microscopes and examples of waste found on beaches even decades after disposal, the seriousness of the microplastics problem and the need for responsible waste management was highlighted.

ANAKEM is the largest Alternative Management System for Construction and Demolition Waste (CDW) in Greece. ANAKEM’s network today covers 66 Regional Units of the country with more than 230 CDW recycling and processing units across 13 Regions.

During the period 2013-2024, it managed 20 million tons of CDW and distributed through its network secondary products of around 10 million tons for the construction of public and private infrastructure projects and site restoration, applying Quality Management Systems according to ISO 9001 and Environmental Management according to ISO 14001.

ANAKEM continues to dynamically inform and raise public awareness through social media platforms. Short and understandable TikTok videos had particular impact, combining speed, simplicity and clear information, making a strong impression on audiences.
