Nova, a member of United Group – the leading telecommunications and media provider in Southeast Europe – is supporting the Athens International Film Festival “Premiere Nights” as Major Sponsor for the fourth consecutive year. The 31st festival will take place from October 1-12, carrying the central message “These Nights Remain,” and is expected to offer unique cinematic experiences to film lovers. Two top names from international cinema will be in Athens this year: award-winning director Neil Jordan, who will be honored for his overall work, and Daniel Day-Lewis, who will attend the world premiere of the film ANEMONE at the Athens Concert Hall.

This year’s event was officially presented on Wednesday, September 17, at a press conference held at the French Institute of Greece.
The panel included Festival General Director Ms. Tatiana Pappa and Artistic Director Mr. Loukas Katsikas. The event was honored by the presence of Athens Film Company President Ms. Maria Bompola, EKKOMED CEO Mr. Leonidas Christopoulos, as well as institutional representatives, collaborators and sponsors.

The new Director of the French Institute, Ms. Maria Wadjiny, welcomed the audience, while Festival General Director Ms. Tatiana Pappa noted among other things that “Premiere Nights is the institution that marks the beginning of each autumn season and remains cinema’s most vibrant rendezvous with the public” and Artistic Director Mr. Loukas Katsikas presented this year’s program redesign, emphasizing that “This year we will again host the best films of the year, as a gift to all those who have been filling the theaters for 31 years.”

Agapi Kefalogianni, Nova’s Program Director emphasized: “With great joy, Nova is once again supporting the Athens International Film Festival ‘Premiere Nights’ as Major Sponsor for the fourth consecutive year. At Nova we love cinema, embrace all its expressions and make sure to highlight them with specially designed programming and film tributes on Novacinema channels and the EON platform.
Within the framework of the Festival this year through the Off screen show and special podcasts, Nova’s film critic Poly Lykourgou will host guests and together they will introduce us to the films and analyze this year’s events. We are particularly happy and proud to stand alongside an institution that honors the art of cinema in Athens and offers a true celebration in our city’s movie theaters.”
