A 48-year-old foreign national is in police custody after being arrested on the morning of September 13, 2025, in Athens, following a police operation conducted by the Search Department of the Attica Crime Investigation and Detection Directorate. The arrested individual was wanted under a European arrest warrant issued by French authorities, charged with negligent homicide and participation in drug trafficking.
Involvement in international network
According to information available, the 48-year-old is alleged to have been a member of an international criminal organization that transported drugs from Greece to France. He is also implicated in a homicide case that occurred in October 2023 in France.
The accused has already been brought before the competent prosecutorial authorities, who will decide on the further extradition procedure.
