Weather is forecast to be good on Thursday (07/08) in most parts of the country, with the exception of some scattered clouds that may bring rain. Gradually the clouds are expected to recede, however the heat and meltemi winds will remain, at least for the coming three-day period, creating a “cocktail” that increases the risk of wildfires.
It should be noted that on Thursday the Fire Service will be on alert, as six regions of the country are initially on “orange” alert.
Sunshine with clouds, light rain and strong winds on Thursday
Regarding the weather, Thursday is forecast to bring sunshine with light clouds, increased in Eastern Macedonia, Thrace, Evia, northern and mountainous parts of Crete, as well as in the mountainous mainland areas during the warm hours of the day, with local showers or isolated thunderstorms in the mountains of Crete, Macedonia and Western Thessaly.
Temperature will range from 22 to 37 degrees in Northern Greece (in Western Macedonia from 16 to 31 degrees), 25 to 35 degrees in Central and Southern Greece (in Thessaly up to 37 degrees), 21 to 37 degrees in Western Greece, 25 to 31 degrees in the Cyclades and Crete, 25 to 35 degrees in the Eastern Aegean islands and from 25 to 31 degrees in the Dodecanese.
Winds will blow in the Aegean from northern directions moderate to strong 5-6 Beaufort, while in the Ionian from variable directions weak and from noon from northwestern directions temporarily moderate 4-5 Beaufort.
Sunshine with light clouds in the northern parts is expected on Thursday in Attica. Temperature will range from 27 to 33 degrees Celsius, but in the north and east it will be 2-3 degrees lower. Winds will blow from northern directions moderate 4-5 Beaufort and in the eastern areas strong 6 Beaufort.
Sunshine with light clouds, denser during midday and afternoon hours with local showers or isolated thunderstorms mainly in the surrounding mountains is expected on Thursday in Thessaloniki. Temperature will range from 24 to 37 degrees Celsius. Winds in the Thermaikos will blow generally from northwestern directions weak and in the morning hours temporarily moderate 4-5 Beaufort.

Generally clear weather in most areas of the country. Local rains will occur in Crete, mainly in mountainous areas, until the afternoon and in northern mainland areas, mainly mountainous, during midday and afternoon hours.
Winds will blow from northern directions 4 to 6 Beaufort and in the Aegean 7 and locally 8 Beaufort.
Temperature will show a slight rise in the west. It will reach 33 to 36 and locally in the western mainland 37 degrees Celsius, while in the Cyclades, Sporades and northern Crete it will not exceed 30 degrees Celsius.
